Passover Made Easy: It’s Coming!
We’re ready to let CookKosher members in on a little secret. Or maybe it’s not such a secret anymore. Perhaps some birdies might have told you. Kinda literal chirping birdies like Twitter. Or birdies like Artscroll. Or really big birdies like Amazon.
But even if you’ve heard about the exciting debut of Passover Made Easy, by Leah Schapira and Victoria Dwek (us!), our dear CookKosher members deserve a little bit of juice.
Like how it all happens.
Well, here’s a glimpse.
Here’s our stylist and photographer hard at work, making sure they got the right shot. Our book was shot in a cool chef’s studio that was lined with shelves stocked with all kinds of random photo props. It was lots of fun to go prop shopping. The studio had great big windows right in the spot where we were shooting so we had great natural lighting to help us out.
See that dish in front of the lights? That’s our Russian Coleslaw, looking really pretty. The background is being set up for the next dish, to the right of it. (Can you figure out which dish is going to go there? Hint: You’d need to find those flowers somewhere in the book. No, you don’t win anything if you guess right. But you can still win something for doing something else today. Keep reading.)
Fast forward a few weeks. Did you ever try to imagine what a book looks like before it’s a book? This big stack is full of recipes from our dessert chapter, fresh off the press.
And presto! Some main dishes are ready for trimming and binding.
Well, they better hurry up. We can’t wait! As you’re ready this, the books are probably being bound, being packed in boxes, or loaded onto a truck so they can make their way to Artscroll headquarters in Brooklyn and hence to a bookstore near you. Here’s a little bit about the cool stuff in Passover Made Easy.
We love to chat with you. You’ll keep hearing us whisper to you all throughout the book. We also thought it would be fun to hear some random fun facts about Passover, so that’s in there too. We like to making cooking fun.
Stumped about what wine to buy for the Seder? We got that covered. Even if you’re totally wine ignorant, we’ll get those wine-loving guests running to your table.
We even let you in on some of our food styling secrets with step-by-step photos of how beautiful dishes are created so you can work the same magic on your own table! Just like we showed you the Picture-Perfect Sushi Salad and the the Picture-Perfect Soup.
Another great thing about Passover Made Easy is the price. We wanted it to be affordable so everyone can be creative in the kitchen this Passover. There’s a full color photo for every single recipe. When we had to narrow down the recipes we could include to 60, we realized that a recipe had to be amazing to make the cut. Of course, we love the recipes on CookKosher.com, but it doesn’t take much for a recipe to go from a kitchen to being posted online. To get into a book, though, recipes had to be tested multiple times by multiple people, and then still hope that we deemed it yummy enough, original enough, and easy enough to be worthy of a page in our book.

My favorite pesach foods are sugared almonds and meringues. can u tell I have a sweet tooth ;)
my favorite thing to eat at passover is matzoh brie, with either a bit of sugar on top, jelly or syrup. It can be pancake style or scrambled, either way is yummy.

I Love matzo Balls.. i like when there is a mess up and there hard. then... you can cut them in half and pan fry them like a dumpling.. OMG.. so good...
or a Spinach Matzo Lasagna... Something different and the Matzo ends up being flexible like a noodle...

I love cooked potato latkes with homemade applesauce or a roast with homemade applesauce. Also strawberry ices. and pesachdik non gebrokts chocolate chip cookies (made with gorund nuts). yum!
