The perfect cookie to roll out and decorate for all occasions.
2 cup flour
¾ cup confectioners sugar + 2 Tbsp
1 Tbsp vanilla sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ cup oil
- Royal Icing:
1 cup confectioners Sugar
1 egg white
- food coloring
To form dough: Mix the (the first 6 ingredients) egg, flour, confectioners sugar, vanilla sugar, baking powder and oil. Add flour if necessary.
Roll out dough to a 1/4 inch thickness. I find it easier to roll directly on the baking paper that I will be using, cut out the shapes and peel off the extra dough around.
Continue to cut out cookies using the re-rolled scraps, until all is used up.
Bake in a preheat oven at 350F for 12 minutes. Cool
Royal Icing: Beat egg whites and confectioners sugar until stiff peaks form. Divide the icing to desired colors. Color each part.
Fill up a piping bag (size 2 nozzle) and decorate cookies.
Draw an outline in each cookie. Let it harden. Then add a drop of water to thin out the icing. Spread out the icing in the borders. Let dry overnight.
