
Filling, nutritious bean soup. Great for a cold day. This is served in the few kosher restaurants that Budapest has, My family love it so much, that my mother managed to copy it.

INGREDIENTS
3 cup red kidney beans
1 Tbsp chicken soup mix
1 carrot shredded
1 large onion whole
1 lb soup meat/flanken/meat bones
2 Tbsp oil
1 Tbsp paprika
2 fat cloves of garlic minced
1 Tbsp flour
4 sausages /cabanas
1 egg
4 Tbsp flour
Soak the beans overnight. (if you don't do this step, then double boil the beans before hand)
Boil the beans for half an hour and then throw out the water
Reboil for 2 hours with the chicken soup mix,shredded carrot and whole onion and the meat
When that is cooked in a separate pot, put the paprika, oil, flour and garlic. Cook it on a small flame for a 10 mins untill it thickens and then add 1 soup ladle of cook soup. Mix together and pour into soup.
Add the cabanas/sausages.
In a bowl mix the egg and flour to make a dough. roll in balls and drop into cooking soup. Cook for another 20 mins.
Remove onion and serve.
