RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
3 cortland apples- grated
1 cup sugar
2 tsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp corn starch
½ tsp cinnamon
1 sheet of flaky dough
1 egg
Cook the grated apples, sugar, lemon juice, corn starch, and cinnamon on a low flame for a half an hour. Let the apple filling cool. Roll the dough out (not too thin though!) and place the cooled filling going down the middle.
I do not like braiding the dough since it doesn't look great if it's not perfect (I have other dishes to save my confectionary sugar for!). So instead I roll it up, make slanted slits, and press the openings down with a fork.
Egg and bake at 350 until golden. Once it's cooled, sprinkle with confectionary sugar and send it over to the new neighbor!
