A popular Middle Eastern recipe of flavorful meat loaf with a tahina sauce. If you do not have time to make the sauce, the meat loaf is yummy by itself.

  • 2 lb ground beef

  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • ½ tsp ground allspice

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ½ cup tahini paste

  • ⅓ cup cold water

  • 1½ Tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • ¼ tsp paprika

  • ⅛ tsp salt

  • ⅛ tsp black pepper

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the meat loaf ingredients (#'s 1 - 9) and mix well with hands until well combined. Shape the mixture in the shape of a loaf on a well greased pan. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 1 hour, or until meatloaf is cooked through.

  2. Meanwhile, mix together ingredients #'s 10 to 16 to make tahini sauce. Mix well, as it may be hard to mix the paste into the water at first.

  3. When meatloaf is done, pour sauce over meatloaf. Warm together in the oven for a couple of minutes, then serve warm.
