My Zayde taught me this recipe, and he was a master cook. Now, when I make it for my in-laws, they always ask for more.

INGREDIENTS













  • 1 pkg stew meat










  • 2 small boxes sliced mushrooms










  • ¾ bag barley










  • 2 tomatoes










  • 1 large onion










  • 3 stalks celery










  • 2 cloves garlic










  • 1 Tbsp salt










  • 3 bay leaves










  • ½ cup mocha mix










  • ½ tsp pepper










  • 1 tsp granulated garlic










  1. Add meat to pot of water, and boil together for 30 minutes.



  2. Chop vegies, and add to soup pot.



  3. Add barley, mocha mix, and spices to pot.



  4. Cook on low for 4 hours, stirring constantly.
