An easy kugel (makes only 1 pot dirty!), freezes well, and has a good sweet and peppery taste. Great to have in the freezer and pull out before shabbos when you have no time to make any other kugel.
1 stick margarine
4½ cup water
1 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
¾ tsp pepper
12 oz thin kugel lukshen (noodles)
3 Tbsp oil
3 Tbsp brown sugar
Add margarine, sugar and pepper.
Mix in lukshen. Cook 10-15 minutes. Remove from flame.
Add oil and brown sugar. Let mixture cool a bit before adding the eggs (you don't want the eggs to scramble).
Pour into 9" round pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour- till golden. (cover for first 20 minutes, then uncover rest of baking time)
