Easy, crock pot recipe that is perfect for Rosh Hashanah lunch or dinner. It can cook in the crock pot for hours on low. I use only dark meat chicken so that it doesn't dry out from the long cooking.

INGREDIENTS













  • 1 Cut up chicken










  • 5 red delicious apples










  • 3 onions, sliced thin










  • 1 cup pearl barley










  • 1 cup small white navy beans










  • 1 large can tomato sauce










  • 1 Tbsp instant chicken soup










  • 1 water to cover










  • 1 salt & pepper to taste










  1. Place all the ingredients in a 2 1/2 quart crock pot.



  2. Set on low and allow at least 8-10 hours on low.



  3. Make sure water covers chicken to keep it from drying out.
