Alfredo is a restaurant in Israel that serves awesome pizza, pasta and breads. Totally worth going there to eat.
6 Bread bowls
50 gram butter (about 2 oz)
2 Tbsp olive oil
500 gram champaign mushrooms
250 gram portobella mushrooms
250 gram purple onion, diced
5 cloves garlic
100 ml heavy cream
500 ml milk
300 ml milk with 4 Tbsp cornstarch
- white pepper
250 gram parmesan cheese, grated
1 small handful of chopped fresh basil
2 Tbsp mushroom soup mix
Saute the onion and garlic in teh butter and olive oil for 2 minutes.
Add the mushrooms and saute for 5 minutes.
Add the mushroom soup mix and stir well in.
Add the 500 ml milk and the heavy cream and bring to almost a boil (but not a boil.)
Season with pepper, nutmeg and basil.
Mix the 300 ml milk with the cornstarch until the cornstarch is diluted. Add to the pot.
Add the parmesan cheese and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Serve in a bread bowl.
