Another recipe I've been making for years. The sauce combined with the topping and fruit make for a delicious treat. Perfect for a large crowd.

INGREDIENTS

  • - SAUCE:

  • 1 (16 oz) bag of frozen strawberries

  • 1 bag of frozen rasberries

  • ½ cup orange juice

  • 2 tsp confectioners' sugar

  • ¼ cup fruit liqueur

  • - TOPPING:

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup slivered almonds

  • 1 (4 oz) margarine, melted

  • 2 cup rice crispies

  • - FRUIT:

  • 2 red apple

  • 2 green apples

  • 2 yellow apples

  • 2 oranges

  • 1 can pineaaple, drained

  1. Sauce: Blend all ingredient together.

  2. Topping: Melt margarine. Combine melted margarine with the brown sugar, almonds and rice crispies. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes. Let cool.

  3. Cut the apples into pieces with the peel on. Peel and segment the oranges.

  4. To assemble: Layer in the trifle, layers of each fruit separately so that it looks pretty. Like Pineapple, green apples, orange, red apples and yellow apples. Place the fruit in a bowl or cup and place in the middle of the trifle. Sprinkle topping all over the top (around the sauce)

What a great recipe. The perfect ending to a heavy meal and it looks really pretty on the table. Everyone loved the fruit trifle. I will definitely be making this dessert often.
