Really pretty pears in a wine sauce. Can be served as an appetizer or dessert.
(For a quick cheat you can use canned pears, but it doesn't taste as good)

INGREDIENTS













  • 6 pears, peeled, cored and sliced in half downards










  • ¾ cup red wine










  • ⅓ cup sugar










  • 2 cloves










  • - pinch cinnamon










  • 1 slice lemon (optional)










  • - water










  1. Mix the wine, sugar, cloves, cinnamon and lemon in the pot. Add the pears. Add water to just cover the pears.



  2. Simmer on a medium low heat until the pears are tender.



  3. Remove the cloves and lemon before serving.



  4. Serve cold.
