WHEN MY DAUGHTER MADE THIS IN THE 9 DAYS AND SENT SOME FOR US, I KNEW THIS WOULD BECOME A SPECIAL OCCASION RECIPE. SURE ENOUGH, THIS IS ONE OF THE MAIN DISHES WE USE AT OUR ANNUAL CHANUKAH PARTY.

INGREDIENTS













  • 1 PKG PENNE PASTA NOODLES










  • 8 oz TOMATO SAUCE










  • 1.5 cup MARINARA SAUCE










  • 1 RED PEPPER - DICED










  • 1 GREEN PEPPER - DICED










  • 1 MEDIUM ONION - DICED










  • 2 STALKS CELERY - DICED










  • 1.5 cup WATER










  • 1 PKG SHREDDED MOZARELLA CHEESE










  • 1 tsp SALT










  • 1 tsp GARLIC POWDER










  • 2 Tbsp PIZZA SPICE










  1. COOK PENNE NOODLES IN BOILING WATER WITH DROP OF OIL. DRAIN. SAUTE ONIONS, CELERY & PEPPERS FOR 15 MINUTES TILL GOLDEN. ADD THE WATER & SPICES & COOK FOR HALF HOUR UNTIL IT BECOMES A THICK CREAMY SAUCE.



  2. PREHEAT OVEN (OR TOASTER OVEN) TO 350^. USING A 9 X 13 PAN . LAYER AS FOLLOWS:



  3. POUR IN HALF THE SAUCE TO COVER BOTTOM OF PAN. ADD HALF THE BAG OF SHREDDED CHEESE. ADD ALL NOODLES, SPREAD OUT TO COVER CHEESE. ADD THE REST OF SAUCE, ENDING WITH TOP LAYER OF THE REST OF CHEESE. COVER WITH FOIL & BAKE FOR 45 MINUTES, THEN UNCOVER FOR ADDITIONAL 15 MINUTES.
