Every week I make Challah and I'm left with 1 oz fresh yeast. Some weeks I make vanilla rugelach which uses 1 oz of yeast, but I really need some new ideas. Any recipes that use 1 oz of yeast? |

I switched rom using fresh cakes of yeast to using the fresh powder yeast. I buy a large bag from Costco and store it in a ziplock in my fridge. It lasts a few months and I always have yeast available without worrying that it has gone bad. I always prefered fresh yeast to dry yeast but this is just as good. |

To mimi, you can use the leftover yeast to make a pizza dough. It won't be much since it is only 1 oz, but it takes no time to make a dough and it can be a great part of supper for a family. My family always loves homemade pizza! |

Hi Mimi, you're great. using leftovers is quite a challenge. You could try doing calzones-that's quite a different luch that we enjoy all the time! If you prefer I could post a delicious recipe for you! |

Thanks, I know I could use dry yeast (my sister has been trying to convert me) but I'm happy using fresh. Thanks for the ideas. I'll check them out . |
