I wanted to make fresh rolls for my purim seudah. Something that will go well with mushroom barley soup. Any ideas?

Here are two different roll recipes that I always prepare. Recipe#6027, which is one that you can prepare and put it in the refrigerator overnight. It's more cake y. Another recipe which is great is recipe#3546. That is flakier in taste and looks lovely shaped into croissants. Both are easy and always come out great!

If it's for a seuda, why don't you just make your challah dough into rolls. Brush the tops with some water and then sprinkle on some sunflower seeds. Or fill it with sauteed onions. You can also form your challah dough into breadsticks and then brush it with some oil and crushed garlic after it's baked.

My Challah is very sweet - which we like on Shabbos.
I am looking for a crustier type of bread.

Why don't you use a water challah recipe - something like Recipe #1226?

Thanks! I might give it a try.
My only hesitation is that one reviewer wrote the dough was a bit sweet.

Let me know if you're still looking, I have a recipe for half-whole-wheat bread that works as rolls too and isn't really sweet at all. I don't have it on me right now but if you post that you're still hunting I will get it for you! Otherwise I'll just wait until I get around to it.

Thanks Knaidel! I found an old Binah recipe that I think I'm going to use. The funny thing is that I saw that smartcookie just posted that recipe. I made them a few months ago and they really were great.
