Place beans in large deep pot. Add enough water to cover beans by 2 inches , let soak for 6-8 hours. Drain chick peas and replace in large deep pot again cover beans with water by 2 inches. Add 1/2 tsp baking soda for every cup. As chick peas cook remove white foam from the top of pot. Cook for 1 1/2 until peas are soft. remove from flame, drain and add freshly ground black pepper, salt. |
