I always thought soy milk was healthy until I stumbled across information that shows its not. There are dangerous toxins in soy that can cause health problems with the thyroid, gastrointestinal issues, and others. I stopped giving my two year old soy milk immediately. There are other milk substitutes out there, such as almond milk and coconut milk, among others. Go to www.HiddenSoy.com/Soy-milk-dangers/ for more info.

I have NEVER read or heard that about soy. I had no idea... That's kind of dissapointing because I really love soy milk. I don't really like any other kind of milk, especially cow milk. We used to cook a lot with soymilk and never had any problems, though. I wonder why? Thanks for sharing that, Mimis! I wonder what other "healthy" things we're eating that aren't good for us.

There's a lot of controversy about agave too. Some claim it's almost as bad as high fructose corn syrup. I would recommend researching any health product before buying it and wasting your money on something that might not be so healthy after all.

Well, thankfully we don't really buy anything expensive or "gourmet". We pretty much stick to the basic "cheap" stuff, so we're probably better off than most people.

I don't know if any of you on cookkosher eat at subway (ME! ME! ME!), but I've been doing some reaserch on the ingredients of their food. Boy was that enlightening especially since they advertise themselves as "healthy" and good for you! I'll leave an web address for their ingredients list, but it pretty much boils down to:
No bread, Gardenburger veggie patty NOT veggimax, swiss cheese, pepperjack cheese, parmesan cheese, provolone cheese, all veggies except for pickles, jalapenos, and banana peppers, and oil, deli brown and yellow mustards for the condiments.
