Melting Chocolate in the Microwave

on Thursday, 09 January 2014. Posted in Tips And Tricks

In "Kids Cooking Made Easy" we showed kids how they can melt chocolate in the microwave. But lets be honest. Melting chocolate in the micowave isn't only for kids.

The traditional way to melt chocolate is using a double boiler. A double boiler is a pot or a bowl placed over a pot of simmering water. Melting chocolate in the microwave is much quicker and neater.

1. Chop up your chocolate and place it into a microwaves-safe bowl.

2. Microwave the chocolate for 1 minute. Remove from microwave and stir.

3. Microwave for an additional 30 seconds. The chocolate might still look lumpy when you take it out of the microwave, but should become smooth as you stir. Your chocolate is ready to use.

4. If there are still lumps in your chocolate, microwave for 15 more seconds.

Have fun!
