I posted the Gala recipe that member Diet requested. In error, it was posted twice. Please omit the 2nd one. Leah's cookbook is so fabulous, that owning one is not enough. I need another one to leave in the (bungalow) country as well!

I have tasted many sweet kugel over the years but none as delicious as this recipe graciously given to me by a friend in Australia, Mary Limon who made it for her son's Bar Mitzvah. It is a stand alone desert or a wonderful end to a simple meal.

I took my first trip to New York three years ago today and stopped at a bakery in Bayside called Country Kitchen. There I had the most delicious dark chocolate cake I had ever eaten. Baked in a loaf pan and no frosting it was served with a dollop of whipped cream. The owner graciously gave me an entire cake to bring home. I tried several times to duplicate it and this recipe comes mighty close. I know you will agree this is a special recipe. I call it Fast and Easy Dark Chocolate Cake it is fast and easy to put together.
