Celebrating birthdays are always fun when the entire family gets together. Lucky for us kids, my parents were born a day apart and we get to celebrate by throwing one party for both of them.
We started off by preparing an opulent Shabbos table fit for a king and queen. In this case I went for the monochromic look. White was the color with gold accents. I love candles and flowers. At table setting, it’s the flowers that set the mood and party flavor. Use simple vases; shape doesn’t matter as long as they are all clear. Then line them across the table and you’ve got yourself a festive table.
It’s all about the layering. Start with a beautiful starched white tablecloth. The starch gives the crisp and clean look. On that layer, gold charges, white dinner plates, napkins and bowl. To add the personal touch we placed a custom chocolate in the center of each bowl.
The napkins are disposable and can be bought in all the letters of the alphabet. I picked these up at my local party good store. The initial on the napkin and a bentcher next to each setting personalizes it even further.
On a side note: To my parents if you are reading this. We had a wonderful time over the entire weekend and may we continue celebrating many more birthdays together.
