Elegant Fundraiser

It’s that time of year again, when RCCS auction viewings are in full swing. RCCS (Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society) is a non-profit organization, providing an array of services for cancer-stricken patients in need; primary among them is the subsidizing of health insurance premiums, enabling those in need to obtain the best possible medical care.

While some auctions are held at one big event, RCCS auctions are lots of little auctions spread over two weeks, with the drawing held December 19. Many neighborhoods in the Tri-State area have a representative. The representative's job is to set up a party. At the party you can view auction booklets and watch a video presentation about RCCS. It’s a chance to get together with friends, eat and raise money for a valuable cause. If you can’t attend you can order tickets online or by phone.
This year, I volunteered to invite my neighborhood and host the auction. As an event planner, I may have set up a bit more than necessary. Most hosts put together a simpler evening. The most important part is get people to attend.

With black and white as the color scheme, I mixed and matched differnet shapes and sizes of black and white dishes.

With simple iron-on-transfers, you can transfer any white cloth napkin into a conversation piece. Iron on a message, monogram or design to match your party.

Group similar items together. Set drinks together (the drinks photo is before we filled it with kiwi, blueberry and pina colada..) On a side note, it's better to place a runner or tablecloth under the drinks as they tend to spill and can ruin the furtniture.

Have fun planning your next event, until next time.

So talented! Magnificent table setting and love the black and white color scheme. Great tip, the iron-on transfer, but where do you purchase them?
