Style in the Kitchen
Let’s talk about syle in the kitchen! This may sound odd considering that most people I know, myself included, throw off their shoes, trade their shaitels for snoods and even change into their go-to black lycra or denim skirts the minute they walk into their house in preparation of a session of cooking, cleaning or suppertime with the kids. Comfort is key in the kitchen and I know I’m not alone in this sentiment.
But this does not mean we have to completely give up style while busy with domesticated duties. On the contrary! Your home and especially your kitchen are really an amazing hub of creativity, and if you’re like me and love beautiful things you should surround yourself with style even while sporting your flour covered lycra skirt.
In the words of Coco Chanel: “Fashion fades, only style remains the same”. Fashion is only a small part of style, so while the kitchen may not be the best place to express your fashion sense, it can still be a source of great style. I'm especially loving florals in the kitchen. The colors and variety of flowers in nature can be breathtaking and when used decoratively, add a gorgeous and happy element to just about anything. Express yourself through great dishes, cooking tools, fresh smelling cleaning products and fabulous aprons. Even the rubber gloves you use to wash your dishes can be fabulous!
Here are some of my favorites....if it’s pretty AND functional, I’ll find an excuse to buy it!

I always wear an apron when cooking. I think it looks cute!
Aprons are one of the most important things in my kitchen. I always have one on when I'm cooking or baking. It makes me feel so much calmer in the kitchen knowing that I'm only getting my apron dirty and not everything else! I have quiet a large collection of them and I have definitely used each one a bunch of times!
