You have a lot to do every day, and this breakfast will get you going and fill you up, so you can keep going for hours! Use the oatmeal in a round carton, not the little packets of instant oatmeal.

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup quick-cooking oatmeal

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • 0 sweetener to taste

  • 1 Tbsp ground flax seed

  • 1 Tbsp walnut pieces

  • ¼ cup cup fresh blueberries (summer)

  • ¼ chopped fresh apple (winter)

  • ¼ cup milk

  1. In a disposable bowl, combine oatmeal, cinnamon, sweetener, flax seed, and walnuts. Stir to mix (otherwise the flax will clump together when wet, and not taste so great). Add hot water from an urn or insta-hot or the hot-water faucet. Add just enough to mix it together; you want a thick consistency

  2. Stir in either the blueberries or the chopped apple to distribute evenly. Add some milk and stir again. Carpe diem! You won't be hungry again for hours.

  3. I have this every day (except Shabbos, Yom Tov, and on erev fast days, of course), so I can practically make it in my sleep. If you are morning-challenged, mix it up the night before, so you can just add the hot water while you are gulping down some coffee.
