Easy and delicious twist on traditional applesauce! Great on its own or for topping latkes.
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
Peel apples and pears (optional).
Cut apples and pears into 6-8 slices.
Place fruit and lemon juice in microwave-proof dish large enough to prevent boiling over. Cook on high for 3 minutes. Stir and cook again for another 2-3 minutes until the fruit is soft. Cooking time depends on the wattage of your microwave and the amount of moisture in the fruit.
You can cook it in a pot on top of the stove too, until the fruit is soft.
Mash with a fork, stick-blender or food processor. I prefer mine chunky!
