Easy and delicious twist on traditional applesauce! Great on its own or for topping latkes.

INGREDIENTS













  • 3 apples










  • 3 pears










  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice










  • 1 tsp cinnamon










  1. Peel apples and pears (optional).



  2. Cut apples and pears into 6-8 slices.



  3. Place fruit and lemon juice in microwave-proof dish large enough to prevent boiling over. Cook on high for 3 minutes. Stir and cook again for another 2-3 minutes until the fruit is soft. Cooking time depends on the wattage of your microwave and the amount of moisture in the fruit.



  4. You can cook it in a pot on top of the stove too, until the fruit is soft.



  5. Add cinnamon.



  6. Mash with a fork, stick-blender or food processor. I prefer mine chunky!
