These cookies bring back lots of memories. I grew up baking them with my mom. It's a great and easy recipe that you can bake with your children. Any size or shape cookie cutter works. I like to bake them into menorahs and dreidels for Chanukah and clowns etc. for Purim. It is a wonderful activity to do on those snowy days when the kids are home from school. So have fun, enjoy and create memories.

Place all ingredients in mixer. Mix all together until dough forms, about 4-5 minutes. Refrigerate dough for 15 minutes(optional).
This dough can be used several ways. Either roll out flat on floured surface and cut with any desired cookie shape. You can also roll pieces of the dough into medium size balls; then flatten with fork, or fill a cookie press with the dough-it's a soft dough.
Place cookies on parchment paper on a baking pan. For sugar cookies-brush on egg white and sprinkle sugar on top, or dip into any topping- colored sprinkles etc. These cookies are also great for decorating with icings.
Bake on 325 for 15 minutes. Watch carefully. They freeze very well. If you are pressed for time, the dough can be frozen in logs and when needed just cut slices and bake.
