Moist angel food cake with a hint of almond flavoring
1Â¼ cup cake flour
1Â¾ cup sugar
Â¼ tsp salt
1Â½ cup egg whites
1 tsp cream of tartar
Â½ tsp vanilla extract
Â½ tsp almond extract
Beat egg whites into stiff peaks. Add cream of tartar, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
Sift together sugar, flour and salt.
Fold egg whites into flour mixture.
Pour into ungreased 10 in. tube pan.
Place in cold oven. Turn oven to 325 degrees and bake for one hour.
Invert pan and allow to cool fully before removing from pan.
