Custard for doughnuts, cream puffs... Can be frozen. Adapted from the Heimish cookbook.
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
¼ cup cornstarch
¾ cup sugar
2 cup milk
2 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
Melt the butter. Add the conrstarch, sugar and salt.
Gradually add the milk. Bring to a boil.
Blend the egg yolks, slowly add the boiled milk.
Return to heat and cook for 2 minutes, stirring the entire time. Cool and mix in the vanilla extract
