I made this for yom tov for my family, and everyone loved it!
1 (12 oz) package bow tie pasta
1 large onion, diced
2 Tbsp oil
1 package deli pastrami, cubed
- dash of sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
Heat oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onions and saute until golden brown. Add pastrami and spices and mix well; remove from heat. Add pasta and mix everything together until fully incorporated. Adjust seasoning if needed.
TIP: this freezes very well. Store in tightly covered foil. To warm up on yom tov, simply put into a larger water filled pan onto hot tray until ready to serve.
