My mother ate this at a bris and come home raving about it. Two phone calls later, I had the recipe. Two days later, I made it. Clicks are chocolate coated balls.
- Part 1:
Â½ cup sugar
4 egg yolks
Â½ cup whip cream
2 (8 oz) unwhipped cream cheese
3 Tbsp milk
â…” cup confectioners sugar
- Part 2:
4 cup water
Â½ cup coffee (Â½ cup hot water + 2 tsp coffe)
2 tsp sugar
2 (7) package sugared lady fingers
- Part 3:
3 (2.6 oz) bag of clicks
Â½ cup chopped hazelnuts
2 (3Â½) bars dark chocolate -Rosemarie
Part 1: Beat egg yolks with the 1/2 cup sugar until fluffy. Add the cheese, milk, confectioners sugar and beat well. Beat whip cream and fold into cheese mixture. Set aside.
Part 2: Combine water, coffee and sugar in a bowl.
Part 3: Grate the bars of chocolate
To Assemble: Dip the lady fingers into Part 2 mixture one at a time. Quickly layer them around a trifle or any deep bowl. Lady fingers should be standing up and the sugar side should be facing out. Place all around the bowl. Layer 2 flat layers of lady fingers in the middle to fill the gap.
Place half of part 1 (the cheese mixture) on top of the lady fingers. Sprinkle 1/2 the nuts, 1/2 the grated chocolate and 1 bag of clicks. Repeat and end with 2 packs of clicks.
Refrigerate until ready to be served. (I've also frozen it successfully)
