I make this recipe for the times between rosh hashanah and succos when we don't use chrain. Its also good for a change when you are bored of your regular gefilte fish recipe. The sauce tastes great with challah so it doubles as a dip too!
1 Gefilte fish roll
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 can tomatoe sauce
1 Tbsp sugar (or more to taste)
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
Cook the gefilte fish as usual.
In a frying pan- saute all the vegetables.
Add tomato sauce. Add water if you like the sauce thinner. Season to taste.
Simmer for 10-15 min.
To serve put a slice of gefilte fish on a plate,put a generous amount of sauce on top. Serve chilled.
