Malawah is a middle eastern food which is made from thin layers of dough. You can find it in the freezer section of your supermarket. The Israeli companies like Sabra or Maadanot- Tnuva sell it. This dough can be used in many different recipes. Our favorite is pizza and always a hit with the kids. Quick, simple and delicious. Feel free to experiment.
1 frozen piece Malawah dough
2-3 tsp tomato sauce
- pizza seasoning to taste
- garlic seasoning to taste
- shredded cheese of your choice
Remove one sheet of malawah dough from freezer and place in non- stick skillet on high flame. Dough must be frozen when placed in skillet.
Fry for 3 minutes until light brown in color and dough puffs up. Flip over to other side.
Mix tomato sauce with seasoning. Spread the sauce on top of baked side of dough while the other side cooks. Sprinkle shredded cheese( parmesan, cheddar, mozzarella-you can mix them all for taste) Flip over the dough with the topping and let fry for 2 more minutes.
