Apple turnovers are flakey dough triangles filled with an apple mixture. This is the best mixture I have. Scoop a tablespoon into flakey squares. Fold in a triangles. Seal edges and bake.
1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp cornstarch (diluted in a drop of water)
2 tsp lemon juice
½ tsp cinnamon
4 cortland apples
Peel and thinly sliced the apples.
Add all ingredients together in a pot.
Cook on a low flame until thick and syrupy.
