This method is the way I learnt how to make rice and this is how I do it weekly. If you make rice and it comes out sticky, then try out this recipe.
1 cup raw long grain rice
3 Tbsp oil
1½ cup water
Wash and drain the rice well. This removes the extra starches.
Heat oil and the rice in a pot. Fry for 1 minute.
Season with salt.
Add the water. Bring to a boil. Lower flame to the lowest setting possible. Cover the pot and simmer for 15-20 minutes covered.
When the water evaporates, close the flame. Uncover the pot and place a clean dishcloth on top. Cover with the lid and set sit for 5 minutes. (this will adsorb the excess water and will yield fluffy rice.
