This method is the way I learnt how to make rice and this is how I do it weekly. If you make rice and it comes out sticky, then try out this recipe.

INGREDIENTS













  • 1 cup raw long grain rice










  • 3 Tbsp oil










  • - salt










  • 1½ cup water










  1. Wash and drain the rice well. This removes the extra starches.



  2. Heat oil and the rice in a pot. Fry for 1 minute.



  3. Season with salt.



  4. Add the water. Bring to a boil. Lower flame to the lowest setting possible. Cover the pot and simmer for 15-20 minutes covered.



  5. When the water evaporates, close the flame. Uncover the pot and place a clean dishcloth on top. Cover with the lid and set sit for 5 minutes. (this will adsorb the excess water and will yield fluffy rice.

TRIED THIS COOKING METHOD WITH BROWN RICE, WAS DELICIOUS, FLUFFY AND NOT 'DRY'. SERVE WITH THE A1 MUSHROOM SAUCE ALSO FROM THIS WEBSITE !
