After trying dozens of chocolate chip cookie recipes, I finally hit upon this winner. These cookies come out soft and chewy every time. You can also add up to a 1/2 cup of whole wheat pastry flour. For a slightly diferent twist use different flavor chips.
½ cup margarine (or 1 stick)
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1½ tsp vanilla
1½ cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup chocolate chips
Add flour, baking powder and salt into a medium sized bowl. Stir and set aside.
In a bowl of an electric mixer, cream margarine and sugars.
Add vanilla and egg. Beat well.
Slowly add flour mixer. Mix until well combined.
Add chocolate chips, mix until just combined.
Spoon onto baking sheet and bake at 350 for 10 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE.
