
I use my bread machine to make the dough. It makes 3 large challahs. Unfortunately you can't take challah from that!! Its so easy, you just put in all the ingredients and approx. 1 and half hour later you have perfectly risen dough every time.

INGREDIENTS
18 oz Water
8 cup Strong White Flour
1½ Tbsp Salt
6 Tbsp Sugar
⅜ cup Oil
1½ oz Fresh yeast or
2 (7 gram) Packets Dry yeast
Put all ingredients in bread machine bowl in correct order.
Set machine to dough cycle.
When cycle ends take out the dough and divide into 3 parts. Each part should be divided and rolled into 6 strands. Braid the challah.
Let rise an additional 30 minutes. Brush with a beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy.
Bake 25 - 30 minutes in preheated oven 375F.
