INGREDIENTS













  • 1 roll Unger's frozen gefilte fish










  • 2 onions










  • 1 carrot










  • 2 handfulls of sugar










  • 1 tbsp salt










  • ½ tsp white pepper










  1. chop up onions and place in pot



  2. add sugar, salt, peeled carrot, and pepper



  3. place gefilte fish in pot and fill it up halfway with water



  4. Cook covered on a medium flame for 1 1/2 hours.



  5. Refrigerate, slice and serve cold. (for decorative purposes, you can slice the carrot and place a sliver on every serving of gefilte fish)

That's exactly how I make my gefilte fish. I use a gefilte roll that is 22 oz. and use about 1/3- 1/2 cup sugar. Don't forget to refrigerate the roll with some of the water that it cooked it or the roll will dry out.
