Grilling asparagus wrapped in pastrami gives the asparagus a delicious smoky and salty flavor. You can use any cold cut that you have available, such as smoked turkey. You can brush it with barbeque sauce (try our recipe, recipe #3876) or honey mustard sauce.
1 bunch asparagus spears (about 12-16)
16 paper thin slices of pastrami
Wrap pastrami around asparagus spears (don’t worry about making it perfect, it just needs to be wrapped well enough so that the pastrami doesn’t open).
Place in baking tray and spray with cooking spray.
Place on hot grill and cook for 3 minutes on each side. Brush with barbecue sauce or honey mustard sauce or leave as is.
