INGREDIENTS

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup sugar

  • ¾ cup oil

  • 3 tsp vanilla

  • ⅛ tsp almond extract (optional)

  • ⅓ cup orange juice

  • 3 tsp baking powder

  • 5 cup flour (add up to ½ c more if needed)

  • 1 apricot jelly for filling

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp cinnamon and sugar, optional

  1. Beat eggs and sugar until creamy.

  2. Add oil and beat.

  3. Then add vanilla, almond extract and orange juice.

  4. Next add baking powder.

  5. Gradually add flour, a little at a time, until the dough's consistency is able to be rolled.

  6. Put a little flour on board or counter to keep dough from sticking. Roll out a small amount of dough at a time, until it is about 1/4-inch thick.

  7. Use the top of a glass to cut circles out of the dough.

  8. Place spoonful of jelly in center of your circles, and pinch together to form hamentashen.

  9. Brush hamentashen with egg. (Optional: add cinnamon and sugar to egg before brushing.)

  10. Bake at 375℉ for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

hey, this is my recepy. i give it a five because this is how i make mine. although i add lemon juice instead of orange juice and skip the spices. it is crispy on outide and soft inside. ymm and yes i do put egg on top, it keeps it from opening up. enjoy and freilihen purim.
