INGREDIENTS
2 cup dry green split peas
10 cup water
2 lrg. chopped carrots
2 chopped celery ribs
1 lrg. chopped onion
1 pkg. beef neck bones
1 bay leaf
2 tsp beef soup mix (optional)
1 tsp salt or to taste
Rinse split peas and add to pot with water, boil. Add all other ingredients. Simmer for 2 hrs.
Discard bay leaf. Remove bones from pot. When cooled, cut meat off bones into small pieces and return to soup.
