INGREDIENTS

  • 2 sticks margarine

  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)

  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 4½ cup flour

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp salt

  1. Cream margarine & sugar until fluffy. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder & salt. Add eggs & vanilla. Add dry ingredients, 1 cup at a time.

  2. Mix until good dough is formed. Chill for 1 1/2 hours. Roll out dough, cut cookies shapes, bake on 350^ for 12 minutes. Cool.

  3. Decorate with ready fondant by rolling design sheets over fondant. Cut cookie shapes using identical cookie shape cutter you used on the dough. “Glue” fondant piece onto cookie by smearing some egg white.
Tip: To make holes for ribbon, poke holes in dough with straw before baking (& on fondant).
