Really wonderful bars that taste like Pecan Pie! It's my husband's favorite. VERY easy to make and always wins me compliments!

INGREDIENTS













  • 1 cup Butter or Margerine










  • 2 cup Dark brown sugar










  • 2 eggs, beaten










  • 1 pinch salt










  • 2 cup flour










  • 2 cup chopped pecans










  • 2 cup chocolate chips (optional)










  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees



  2. Grease one 9x13 inch baking pan



  3. Cream the butter and 1 cup of the dark brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix in 1 beaten egg then add the flour and until well combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly



  4. Cover the batter with the remaining well-beaten egg. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the dark brown sugar over the surface then sprinkle with the chopped pecans and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar. You may also want to add chocolate chips!



  5. 4.Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Let cool for 30 minutes then cut into squares.

Better than any Pecan Pie

This was absolutely delicious. I only used about 1/2 the amount of chocolate chips and it was still fantastic. I don't know if I'll ever make pecan pie again.
