Smiles all around when this one's on the menu. Serve with Romaninan Potato Salad (recipe # 1093)
1.5 lb sandwich steak meat
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 cup favorite Bar B Q sauce
4 hoagie or kaiser rolls
In a non stick pan, covered halfway, saute onions in a bit of oil till very soft and light brown, around 20 minutes. Remove to plate.
While onions are sauteing, slice steak into strips. You can use a meat mallet to tenderize them if you want. Once onions are done, brown meat over high heat on both sides. You will need to do this in batches in order to avoid crowding the pan.
Combine browned meat and onions in pan. Add sauce and simmer for around 30-45 minutes on low heat till meat is soft.
Split rolls and briefly toast in oven. Pile on the meat in manageble portions for each sandwich.
