I posted the apple pie which really freezes well. It has the same fresh taste after taken out from freezer. Recipe number is #57817.

I also freeze cooked turkey stew, turkey roll, & breaded chicken cutlets..

Good luck everyone in your preperations!

Chicken soup without the vegetables freeze well and all forms of crumbles and pies. Desserts are great to prepare in advance and it freezes well. I also like to prepare apple/fruit compotes and blend them before freezing.

I hope you don't mind me asking my own question here. I was really excited to win the Herend giveaway, however I never received it. I hope it wasn't sent to the wrong address. It's interesting, since I haven't received both the Herend dish and the pashmina, I wonder why. I hope to receive it soon, as I'd love to use it for Rosh Hashana!

I find that all meats, pureed soups and kugels all freeze very well.
Some side dishes that freeze well are orzo with vegetables, anything in dough like:

I use the kugel blade in my potato kugel. In the instructions I write details about it. However I'm sure any grating will do.

Kugel blade is a finely shredding blade. Here is a discussion on cookkosher about it: http://server.cookkosher.com/index.php?option=com_ccboard&view=postlist&forum=2&topic=176&Itemid=4

I am not sure what mode the "kugel blade" is on my food processer. Is this recipe better sliced or chopped like charoset?

Thanks!

With back to school, I've had no time to think.

But a couple of recipes that look like I want to try are: (If I have time!)

Apple Pockets recipe Recipe #4301

Baked Apples with Vanilla Pomegrante Sauce recipe Recipe #537

I always make this roast Recipe #590 since everyone loves it!

And I saw some honey sweet potatoes I would try.

Bake Deco online has many similar shapes. (They are located in Brooklyn and called Kerakas). Some similar shapes that would work would be:

or
http://www.bakedeco.com/detail.asp?id=24430&categoryid=0#.UEABymh2joc although this one is much smaller.

Shibolim Company now has Rubinfeld's whole wheat flour (both whole ground & whole wheat blend). I used it today to make delicious whole wheat rolls. Shibolim products, crackers & spelt snackers etc.. are delicious. I like their whole wheat flour best. Most important, it is already sifted and doesn't require checking, with a very reliable hechsher from B'datz in Israel.

I recently ate a salad that had a sweet/tangy vinagrette type dressing and was topped with grapenuts. Anyone have a recipe for something like that?

That's a great idea! I would love that however the rest of my fam prefers dairy. I'll probably make salmon, lasagna, blintzes, sesame noodles, sushi salad...I have a bunch of fasters and need to make a favorite for each of them.

What are you serving this year on Shabbos before the fast?

I'm thinking of serving a meat meal, like Shnitzel Sandwiches instead of serving dairy.
