i don't have an issue using onions soup mix. A little msg won't kill me :)

3/4 cup instant minced onion
1/3 cup beef bouillon powder
4 teaspoons onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed celery seeds
1/4 teaspoon sugar

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container.
.....
4 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
8 teaspoons dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon seasoned pepper

Store in a cool, dry place.
Use within 6 months.

Here's a recipe I made which I found on PennilessParenting.com, it tastes similar to the msg-free onion soup mix.

2/3 cup minced onion
3 tsp parsley flakes
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp tumeric
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp ground pepper

Mix it all up. Shake well before using.

Why don't both of you post it as a regular recipe post? I'm sure many people would appreciate finding it :)

It still probably has more salt and sugar than you would normally choose to consume, but for those recipes where I really want the onion soup mix (and usually those are the times when I don't have the patience to make it from scratch) I found that Osem makes a mix that has no MSG. However they also make one with MSG and strangely, the packaging looks exactly the same. You'd think they'd advertise "No MSG" but what you need to do is go read the ingredients, it's the only place where the difference is apparent on the package.
